Original language description
At present the breeding of Shagya-arab is developed on the basis of 13 families in the Czech Republic, number of young and breeding mares was 216 at the end of year 2002 (worldwide number is approximately 1550). Through the evaluation of basic body measurements regarding foal segement limited by natal day to adult age so called grow-zones of Shagya-arab mares and stallions were created as a background for future specification and amending of breeding standard.
