The paper deals with the institutional problems in the Czech agri-food business. The information was obtained in the frame of Project PHARE-ACE P97-8098-R "Institutional Economics in the Agri-Food Business: How can Structural Policy hepl to Integrate EU?". The reserch was perfomed in year 200 by means of a guestionnaire method and a method of interviews with managers of 76 agricultural enterprises, 7 meat industry companies, 15 conpanies of the milling and baking industry and 3 foreign retail chains. The results of the research were discussed with representatives of varions institutions such as Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic research Institute of Agricultural economy in Prague atc. problems of theexecution of property rights in supplier-customer relation in the Czech agri-food business are following (institutional view) : poor enforceability of property rights sale for cash refraining from long-term contracts, decrease of trust be
