    New records ofFaniidae and Muscidae are given from several European countries. Ten species (Fannia alpina, Coenosia flavicornis, C. strigipes, C. styriaca, Eudasyphora zimini, Helina vicina, Mydaea affinis, M. obscurella, M. palpalis and M sootryeni) arerecorded from the Czech Republic for the first time. New records are also given from Slovakia (Azelia aterrima, Coenosia flavimana, C. strigipes, C. verralli and Lispocephala pallipalpis}, Germany (Coenosia sallae, Helina veterana), Italy (Azelia gibbera), Romania (Azelia parvd) and Bulgaria (Azelia monodactyla). The main diagnostic characters and recent distribution data for each species are included.
