The interference of photosynthetic and transpiration rate in maize plants by the application of abscisic acid and benzylaminopurine during water stress.

  • Original language description

The influence of abscisic acid (ABA) and benzylaminopurine (BAP) on photosynthetic rate (PN) and transpiration rate (E) of maize plants during water stress was studied in pots with soil in the greenhouse. Phytohormones were sprayed on leaves for 3 days after the cessation of watering. During water stress values of PN and E were limited by stomatal opening of maize. In the simultaneous application ABA and BAP, the cytokinin canseled the effect of ABA and the decrease of photosynthetic rate failed.
