Reproduction effects evaluation in selected Holstein breeding farm

  • Original language description

The reproduction indices reported in the Czech Republic cannot be evaluated positively also in a comparison with other advanced cattle breeding countries. The percentage level of repeated insemination indicates a low level of heat detection, the faulty management of the reproduction of herds (faulty nutrition, unfavourable conditions in the cow shed, imperfect specification of heat, inadequate hygiene at parturition) causes the unsatisfactory state of the results of cow reproduction in the CR. The workassessed the effect of selected factors (number of lactation, year and season of mating, year and season of insemination, sex of calves, bull name-insemination dose, insemination labour code) on indices of reproduction (age at first mating, age at firstcalving, length of calving interval, insemination index, insemination interval, service period, interinsemination interval, gestation lenght, and milk production factors ? milk yield, index of persistence) in selected herd (192 cows)of Ho
