The efficacy of Bt maize and Trichogramma wasp (Tw) against O. nubilalis was tested in two field trials in 2002 and 2003. The hybrids of maize MON 810 (Bt-maize), Monumental (isolinie) and Raissa (local variety) were used. Tw was applied as preparation Trichocarp. Plant injury before harvest on untreated plot ranged from 0.75 to 2.5 per plant in 2002, and 0.22 ? 1.4 in 2003. Biological efficacy of Bt maize was 100%, the biological efficacy of Tw ranged from 35 to 69%. The increase of yield on Bt maize plot reached 21 - 27% in 2002, and 7 ? 15% in 2003 and on plots treated by Tw ranged from 0.6 to 17 in both years. The content of four mycotoxins in grain of maize ascertained by ELISA will be presented. Mathematical model of population dynamics of O. nubilalis in strips of maize treated by Tw in comparison with untreated strips will be presented.
