Aluminium in acid soil environment and assessment of influencing factors
Original language description
Massive forest damage has been observed in certain mountainous regions affected by acidification in all Europe. Forest decline is ascribed to direct effect of SO2 and also increasing concentration of mobile forms of Al in soils. About 1000 km2 of sprucestands died during the last three decades in the Czech Republic. The Jizera Mountains region is one of the most affected regions in the Czech Republic. It is located in the North of the country. The aim of this contribution is to describe the influence of stand factors on the distribution of Al forms in sols of this region. Results show that the most threatened arre localities with low content of Ca in soils because of high concentrations of toxic Al KCl. Forest type and altitude does not influenced distribution of this Al form in the Jizera Mountains region.
