Chlorophyll content (SPAD values) variations in sugar beet leaves
Original language description
In three year´s small-plot trial, we measured relative chlorophyll content (SPAD values) in leaves of two sugar beet varieties during whole vegetation period. We evaluated the influence of variety, nitrogen fertilization (0 200 kgN.ha-1), application ofgrowth stimulators Atonik and Biosfor and fungicide Alert S on chlorophyll content (measured by chlorophyll meter SPAD-502). We determined highly significant differences in SPAD values between experimental years, which were caused especially by differentprecipitations. The highest differences were between vegetation of the year 2000 with below normal precipitation (66 % of precipitation normal) and the year 2001 with above normal precipitation during vegetation period (121 % of precipitation normal), when chlorophyll content differed in average by 57 SPAD units. We evaluated chlorophyll content variations in sugar beet leaves and found out, that chlorophyll content was significantly influenced by growth stage. The relative chlorophyll
