    Since 1996 the Czech governmental programme on gene resources conservation of commercially important fish species has supported in situ conservation of rare/endangered breeds of common carp (Cyprinus carpio; nine breeds) by keeping broodstock as live gene banks on selected farms. Effective population size Ne. is maintained at 120 individuals. Two more breeds were added later, so that currently the Programme includes 11 breeds and lineages of common carp. Genetic structure is currently being investigatedby enzyme polymorphism analysis to determine the value added to the programme. The goal of this report is to propose evaluation of geomotric morphometry as an additional method for determination of genetic purity.
