Biomass Utilisation and Recent Legislative Condition
Original language description
Utilization of biomass for heating has a long tradition in the Czech Republic and it is still a common heat source for households. New biomass based facilities for distric heating systems were constructed in the last years and also co-combustion of biomass in coal fires power plants is in use. The use of biomass for electricity generation will be further promoted by the new Renewable Energy Act which was adopted by Government in 2005.
