The Effect of Ameliorative Materials Addition on the Distribution of As, Cd, Pb, and Zn among Main Soil Fractions Determined by Sequential Extraction Procedure

  • Original language description

Summarizing the results, effective immobilization of Cd, Zn, and in lesser extent Pb by increased soil pH (liming) and soil sorption capacity (application of synthetic zeolite) was evident even after four vegetation periods suggesting stability of thesesoil treatments for more than one vegetation period. However, these treatments are not generally acceptable at multicontaminated soils as well as at all the soil types. Concerning the less mobile soil fractions determined by sequential extraction procedure the results suggested lower effect of the soil treatments where the effect of low pH of individual extraction agents should be taken into account.
