Weed and sugar beets can cross easily and the management of weed beet is crucial in the case of the implementation of GM sugar beet, especially when herbicide-tolerant varieties will be grown, in order to ensure the co-existence of GM and non-GM crops and to avoid the advent of herbicide-resistant weed beet. The present study used the simple methods to characterize steps of life cycle of weed beet in sugar beet to manage its control methods.
