Set-aside land and its trends in biomass production of Cirsium arvense and Elytrigia repens

  • Original language description

In the years 2001 ? 2004 was observed trends of biomass production of perennial weeds (Cirsium arvense and Elytrigia repens) on set-aside arable land sown with Dactylis polygama, Dactylis polygama - Trifolium repens mixture and spontaneous fallow. Swardswere two times per year mulched. The dry mass production of Cirsium arvense in Dactylis polygama plot was highest in the second year (1.906 t ha-1), in Dactylis polygama - Triforium repens mixture was also highest in the second year (2.362 t ha - 1). Wesaw the same progress at the spontaneous fallow (3.556 t ha-1). The progress of the biomass production of Elytrigia repens was different from Cirsium arvense. The highest above-ground biomass production was found in the third vegetation year. In variantwith Dactylis polygama was 1.163 t ha-1 of Elytrigia repens. In plot with Dactylis polygama - Trifolium repens mixture was 1.338 t ha-1 and at the spontaneous fallow it was 1.553 t ha-1.
