Dependence between the area of MLLT and the muscling score of selected body areas in live animals of certain cattle breeds

  • Original language description

During rearing, at the age of 120, 210 and 365 days an area (cm2) of musculus longissimus lumborum et thoracis (MLLT) in the area of 1st and 6th lumbar vertebrae in 30 heads of Blonde d?aquitaine cattle and 30 heads of cross-breds (BAxC) was measured viaultrasound. At the same age the muscling of shoulder, back and rump was estimated (using 10 point scale). Further, basic body measurements were evaluated. At the age of 120, 210 and 365 days in the animals, where reached shoulder muscling score was higher than 7-8 points, the dependence (P=0,05) with the AMLLT was detected. The MLLT in the animals with the muscling score higher than 7-8 points detected at the age of 120, 210 and 364 day it was from 38,9 to 50,8 cm2, from 44,6 to 62,6 cm2 and from 49,9to 78,8 cm2, respectively. Between the point evaluation of muscling of back and rump higher than 7-8 points and with the MLLT at the age of 120, 210 and 365 days significant dependence (P≥0,05) was detected. In relation to the meatin
