Since the last version of the checklist, the number of species has increased in the Czech Republic by 2 (both in Bohemia [1, 3]). The species-richness of the sepsid fauna is moderately well known in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The basic characteristics of the family have been given by Pont & Meier (2002) [7].
