Quality Evaluation of Coneflower (Echiancea ssp.) Cultivated in Czech Climatic Conditions
Original language description
Echinacea purpurea (L.) and Echinacea pallida Nutt were cultivated in two diferent localities in theCzech republic (Červený Újezd ? sugarbeet-growing production region, Světlá nad Sázavou ? potato-growing production region). This research was conducted during years 2005 ? 2006. Extracts were obtained from the one and two years old plants , which were assayed by liquid chromatography (HPLC). Caffeic acid derivates, cichoric acid in E. purpurea, echinacoside in E. pallida were identified as the main ativecompounds. Except of the caffeic acid derivates was found alkamid 2 in E. purpurea plants. The highest content of cichoric acid was found in two years old flowers E. purpurea (49.9399 mg.g-1 ) from locality Č. Újezd, roots obtained 4.2 ? 14.13 mg.g-1 and leaves obtained 25.0 ? 41.0 mg.g-1.The higher content of cichoric acid was found in plants from locality Č. Újezd. Except caffeic acid derivates was found alkamid 2 in the roots and the leaves of E. purpurea, but only in plants from loc
