Induction of morphogenesis in Phlox paniculata L.

  • Original language description

Research objective of the present communication was to find conditions of morphogenesis induction using leaf explants of greenhouse plants and in vitro plants of Phlox paniculata L., cultivars ´Fuji´ and ´Rijnstroom´. Leaf explants (1 cm2) were cut without a major vein and were placed on full-strength MS medium containing cytokinins benzyladenine (BA), thidiazuron (TDZ) and auxins naphtaleneacetic acid (NAA) and indoleacetic acid (IAA) either separately or in a combination. The results provide a reliable regeneration method via organogenesis and possible conditions of somatic embryo induction. Higher regeneration rate of in vitro leaves as compared to ex vitro explants was evaluated. Differences between shoot number were depended on an actual growth phase of greenhouse plants, cultivar regeneration ability and the presence of TDZ.
