Impacts Acting on Conception Rate of Mares

  • Original language description

Artificial insemination is the most widespread method for breeding warm blood and calm blood breeds of horses and its breeding importance increases constantly. The variations of warm blood mare?s reproduction characteristics using artificial inseminationwere assessed. The observations of 3237 inseminated warm blood mares were preceded for 4 years from February to October every year. The results were evaluated by GLM procedure, SAS Institute software. Inseminated between the 1st of January and the 31stof March (period 1) the conception rate of mares was 75.37%, in the interval from the 1st of April to the 30th of June (period 2) it was 74.69% and in period from 1st of July to 31st of October (period 3) conception rate decreased to 70.06%. A significant difference in conception rate (P ≤ 0.05) between period 1 and 3 (P ≤ 0.01) and between period 2 and 3 was detected. Statistically significant differences (P ≤ 0.001) between number of insemination (1-2, 1-3 inseminatio
