Comparison of estrus induction in bitches
Original language description
The objective was to compare the benefits of three biotechnological methods of estrus induction in normal cycling bitches A combination of hCG (Pregnyl) - 500 IU i.m. for 10 days and eCG (Sergon) - 250 IU i.m. in a single dose (n=5, treatment I); a combination of FSH (Folicotropin) - 500 IU s.c. for 5 days and LH (Humegon) - 75 IU s.c. for 5 days (n=4, treatment II); and a combination of estradiol (Agofollin) - dose of 5 mg /animal s.c., on alternate days a total of 3 times and PGF2α (Dinolytic) -dose 0.05 mg/kg, 2 times per week (n=13, treatment III) were used. The bitches were naturally mated before their last parturitions before our observation. Application of treatment was performed 120 ?180 days after their previous estrus in all bitches. Anestrus was confirmed by vaginal cytology. Treatment III was used with relation to persistent corpus luteum (80 days after estrus) diagnosed by vaginal cytology.
