Evaluation of biochar effect on soil pH, inorganic nitrogen and soluble carbon
Original language description
In this study, we incubated soil to assess changes in soil pH, soluble carbon (C) and inorganic (NH4+ and NO3-) nitrogen (N) induced by addition of biochar. For this, biochar was mixed with soil in 4 different rates (0,5, 2, 4 and 8 %) and incubated for 12 weeks. Application of biochar to soil increased soil pH and decreased concentration of N-NO3-. Change in NH4+-N after biochar application was inconsistent. Amount of soluble C was increasing in Control treatment and decreasing on biochar treatments in time. This effect was directly proportional to rate of biochar application.
