Prevalence of nematodes of the genus Bunostomum in mouflons of the Vřísek forest park
Original language description
Bunostomum trigonocephalum (Rudolfi, 1808) is nematode species parasitizing in the small intestine. In adults mouflon we usually not observe clinical signs, but they are carriers. Pups are known to exhibit gastrointestinal and skin disease. Several hundred nematodes may cause death (Broomke, 2014). There is also a possibility of transmission of infection to domestic and farm animals. Moreover, there is also an economic concern of breeding.
