Still escalating the pressure on the promotion of integrated protection of hop plantations leads to the search for alternative means for the protection of hops. One of these means could be, for example, products containing plant essential oils and extracts. The aim of this work was to verify the effectiveness of the action of a solution of thyme essential oil and hop extract against hop downy mildew (Pseudoperonospora humuli). Experiment was made in 2016 and 2017, on health improved Saaz hop planting material. From the evaluation of the effectiveness of the products it was obvious that all products have a protective effect on the plant in the initial stages of development. In the case of the evaluation of the length of the protective effect on the plant has been verified the protective effect of all products for at least 14 days. After that, with small differences, all plants showed moderate signs of appereance of pathogen. After two months since fungicide treatment, all plants proved much weaker sym
