Diversity of species of conservation concern in spoil dumps after brown coal mining
Original language description
The secondary biotopes on the spoil heaps after brown coal mining are the new habitats created by anthropogenic activities in cultural landscape. These areas, 10-15 years after heaping, are inhabited by surprisingly high biological diversity of fungi, plant and animal species. Some of them are even registered in the Red lists of threatened organisms or are specially protected by the Act no. 114/1992 Coll. and by the Executive Regulation no. 395/1992 Coll. Spontaneous succession on the majority of these biotopes may be interrupted by inappropriate technical, agricultural and forestry reclamations. This article presents the overview of species of conservation concern from selected groups of organisms found in the specific environment of six spoil heaps after brown coal mining. Species Quadroppia (Coronoquadroppia) monstruosa and Suctobelbella messneri - (Acari: Oribatida) are published here as new species for the Czech Republic
