Original language description
The paper presents a method for determining the optimal interval for preventive maintenance/replacement using either an age?based or diagnostic?based renewal strategy. Further authors rise a question: how the preventive maintenance influences probabilityof failure and mean life-time of preventive maintained elements of a technical system. They give an answer to the question using analytical and simulation computing approach to its solution. Results are in quantitative form giving relationship between preventive maintenance interval and survival probability function and mean life-time characteristics. An example (two rubber body strips of a cylindrical feeder beater) demonstrates suitability of the method for typical engineering components with Weibulllife distributions. Applications offer substantial benefits to both manufacturer and user of technical equipment.
