Construction waste and its further utilization

  • Original language description

This paper deals with the processing of construction and demolition waste (CDW). It describes the issues related to CDW recycling, utilization methods applicable to different types of waste and deals with the technology used in this area of waste economy. The paper also describes the measurements needed to determine the granularity of the recycled aggregate. Due to the ever-growing volume of construction works and the resulting dramatic drawdown in primary raw materials as well as the corresponding negative environmental impacts of the building industry, the issues described herein are of a global importance. CDW recycling has a long tradition, which can and should be utilized and developed also in the Czech Republic.
