Electric permittivity of potato during compression test
Original language description
Electric permittivity of the cylindrical specimen was measured directly during its compression by the constant deformation rate. The eight different frequencies in range from 0.1 - 500 kHz was used repeatedly for this purpose. The measurement was based on three voltage determination in the AC serial circuit with the AC generator, the specimen and the effective resistance. The deformation process consisted from definite sequential loading and unloading of the tested specimen. The obtained results show that both the permittivity components: real and imaginary ones copy sensitively the deformation process. In the initial and the final part of the test, the permittivity reading depends on the contact of the specimen with electrodes formed by the compression plates. During homogeneous deformation of the specimen, the permittivity decreases with increasing loading stress and vice versa.
