Methane detection by IR spectroscopy
Original language description
The article describes some tools for detection of methane. Unfortunately most of conventional gas sensors (chemica, semiconductor and etc.) have a low sensitivity (to the methane) and these detectors cannot distinguish methane from some of the other chemical species. Nowadays methane detectors and sensors use a technique Infrared Spectroscopy. The paper describes the properties of two suitable sensors based on absorption spectroscopy which are given for low concentration of methane gas.
