Light is one of the most important aspects of egg production, which can influence animal behavior and through it influence the egg production. This study is focused on the light distribution in cages. Measurement was done with two different cages produced by different Czech producers. The goal of this measurement was to evaluate light intensity and compare the obtained results. This relation can have important influence on the quality of hens breeding and quantity of eggs production. A special attentionwas paid to the laying nests. All this knowledge is possible to implicate also to alternative breeding of hens.
