A parallel plate capacitive sensor integrated into a specially designed electronic circuit was built for the purpose of sugar beets and potatoes throughput determination. Different dependencies of sensor output signal on material throughput were obtainedduring dynamic laboratory measurements. In order to closer explain the behaviour of sensor proposed, stationary laboratory measurements with wooden blocks were also carried out. Linear dependence with coefficients of determination R2 = 0.98 and higher was provided for sugar beets and wooden blocks columns and power function dependence with coefficients of determination R2 = 0.98 and higher was provided for potatoes and wooden blocks layers. With respect to way of filling capacitive throughput sensor the throughput measurement of sugar beets and potatoes could be promising way.
