Abrasive wear of polymeric particle composites with a filler on the basis of waste

  • Original language description

In most cases, the composite systems are created on the basis of application for which they are destined and their most prominent feature is flexibility. There is number of different kinds of composites on the market, one those are the polymeric particlecomposites. These are materials with polymers as matrix (connected phase) and different types of particles as filler (fortifying phase). As matrix, epoxy is often being used because its character allows their filling with inorganic fillers. The combination of these types of matrix and filler gives birth to new polymeric particles composite whose resulting characteristics are given by synergic sum of the individual characteristics of the matrix and the filler and as such creates a qualitatively brand new material. As most important characteristics of the polymeric particle composites, one often lists resistance to abrasive wear, hardness, impact resistance and strength and, last but not least, their cost.
