Dependency of hop material fall through on the size of gaps between rollers of the roller conveyor in separating machine
Original language description
This paper deals with roller conveyor, which forms a part of separating machine for hops harvested from low trellises. One of the parameters, which influence the correct operation of this conveyor, is tested, namely the gap between rollers. The aim was to discover the dependency of hop matter fall through on the size of the gap between rollers. For purposes of testing a model of roller conveyor was designed and made, which was subsequently tested in a series of experiments with the object to integrate it into a separating machine. The measurements were carried out using a sample of hop matter harvested from low trellises. The dependency of fall through was being determined for 8 gaps between rollers. The measurements revealed that the gap size betweenrollers, has any influence on the fall through of hop cones and small-sized admixtures, if the gap size is larger than the size of hop cones. At the same time, this parameter has no substantial influence on the separation of medium-length
