RELIABILITY OF SELECTED BIOMETRIC IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS
Original language description
Biometric identification systems are increasingly being used today. Governments around the world are entering demand for biometric security for integrated border control systems. In the commercial sector, biometric security systems are key factors that attract potential clients, as protection of identity and cyber-prevention is nowadays highly desirable. Biometry based on facial recognition is the second most widely used biometric identification just after the finger-printing recognition. The paper is focused on the reliability of systems under difficult conditions, which were gradual-ly simulated and the time of acceptance or wrong denial of the user was measured. The meas-urements were carried out in the laboratory environment, where two biometric readers were available. The results show that the time of acceptance or rejection was to a certain extent influenced by the users themselves. Users affected the system with their reference frame, their position and their face expression in front of th
