The article is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the professor Václav Korf, Czech and Czechoslovak forester, including his brief biography. Professor Korf is worldwide known as the author of growth function which bores his name ? Korf?s function (1939). His function belongs to the worldwide growth functions and often is evaluated as the very good and used by number of authors from many countries in the World. This fact is after all documented on basis of more then 50 contributions edited in science journals listed in SCI (Thompson comp.), perhaps even in the database SCOPUS and several monographs including information about usage and evaluation of the function.
