The survey of historical data about Lymantria monacha outbreaks in the Brdy Mountains was processed for purpose of dendrochronological research. Eight greater outbreaks occurred in the past which led to total defoliation in some stands. The first recordof Lymantria monacha outbreak in this area was observed in the second half of 1800s, the last outbreak in this area was in the years 1993-1995.
