Original language description
In this study we present results after more than 30-years research conducted in the National Nature Reserve Voděradské bučiny. During that time we focused on three main topics: 1) comparison of forest structure of unmanaged stands with more complex pattern and rather simplified structure of evenaged monospecific beech stands with past and present management interventions; 2) natural regeneration of senescent evenaged beech stands in the past managed primarily under the shelterwood system; 3) natural beech regeneration in parts of the reserve with the lowest direct human impact driven by gap-dynamics. Within this frame we examined: the seed production, seedling emergence and survival, regeneration patterns, light and soil conditions under the forest stands, forest structure and occurrence of deadwood. Based on research results, further recommendations for the forest practice are given.
