    Flexural properties of aspen wood in relation to cyclic loading

  • Original language description

    This article deals with finding out the influence of the selected factors (material thickness, wood densification and number of load cycles) on the bending features modulus of elasticity (MOE) as well as modulus of rupture (MOR) of the aspen wood. For the bending features identification, the static bending test was used with three-point loading perpendicular to the fibers in radial direction. The outcome hereof means that the wood species densification influences on its bending strength positively, however, worsening the MOE, which is affected negatively by the wood densification factor. The material thickness factor does not influence significantly the MOE. However, it is statistically significant for the MOR. The number of loading cycles is not a relevant factor for any of the monitored features.
