EROSION OF TOURIST TRAILS IN FORESTS WITH HIGH PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC
Original language description
The topic of this paper is an erosion of tourist trails in forests with high pedestrian traffic. In the experimental area in Kunratický forest in Prague, 13 measuring profiles were selected based on GIS analysis of road slope. By pegs-gate method, change in these profiles was recorded monthly. In measuring period between 15,5. 2016 to 23,3. 2017, statistically significant changes in profiles were recorded. Average change for profiles was 3,4 mm in the measuring period. The biggest loss and deposition of soil was observed in profiles which were located on un-pawed part of the main trail, which serves as bike trail and as yellow-marked hiking trail. Influence of open-top culverts on rate of change was not proved, most probably due to the bad condition of the culverts.
