The questions of definition, use and management of suburban forests during recent years are an important part of forestry industry research and has become a significant subject throughout the whole European Union. The subject of ?Urban Forestry? characterises not only the forestry component but is also connected with complex use of the landscape in the neighbourhood of urban conglomerations. With the proceeding urbanisation by inhabitants of the European Union, the continually growing significance of town and suburban forests for maintenance of the quality of life, particularly in the surrounding area of large cities, and the continually growing need for maintaining them can be assumed.
