Self-Tuning algorithm
Original language description
The software labeled as Selt-Tuning (SLT) program provides for computerized autocorrelation to be used in field of water resources planning, control and operation. Computerized flood warning and forecasting systems usually fail when limited data were made available for necessary calibration and verification in deterministic model categories. In such conditions one might take the advantage in using the time-proven methods of autocorrelation, generally used in signal processing. While the correlation represents interrelationship between two or more random variables, the autocorrelation is known as the correlation of a signal with itself. If such a valuable attribute exists then aliasing of the natural course of an event to be predicted can be used, for series updating and/or filtering. Thanks to its generic formulations it can be used in many fields of physical processes' time-series analysis and in also in control theory.
