Original language description
The influence of hedgerows on surface runoff and water erosion has been simulated using the KINFIL rainfall-runoff model. The model parameters were assessed from field measurement of soil hydraulic parameters of hedgerows and land between them. The modelwas applied for two scenarios in the catchment - with and without hedgerows to assess their effect on extreme runoff. The hedgerows can mitigate a resultant floods and erosion very effectively.
