Evaluation and monitoring of tourism impacts is crucial for sustainable development. The article deals with the perception of tourism on its surrounding. It evaluates the impacts of tourism in the South of Bohemia (NUTS III region). The evaluation is focused on perception of positive impacts (e.g. incomes, increase in recreation capacities) and negative impacts (e.g. wastes, noisiness, criminatility). The perception of impacts on natural and human made environment is also monitored. Finally the life cycle of destination is derived. To evaluate the impacts of tourism on its surrounding the primary research was conducted and the heads or responsible persons in south bohemian authorities were asked. Pieces of knowledge introduced in this paper resulted from solution of an institutional research intention MSM 6046070906 ?Economics of resources of Czech agriculture and their efficient use in frame of multifunctional agri-food systems?
