Analysis of suburban processes on the exapmle of the City of Prague (Czech Republic)
Original language description
The capital City of Prague (Czech Republic), like other large cities of the former Eastern block, has been for a long time one of the most dynamically growing urban areas. In the recent years, the city is particularly affected by building of the suburbanareas. Klanovice Forest is the largest forest complex of the City of Prague, located at its northeastern border. The area belongs to several categories of nature protection including the European network Natura 2000. In the studies the changes in the proportion of build-up areas were investigated in three time periods, which correspond with the basic map data available (1841, 1953 and 2011, i.e. the Imperial Imprints of Stabile Cadastre, historic aerial photographs and current orthophotomap). The mapswere imported to and processed in the Geographic Information System (GIS) environment. The results can bring useful information for future sustainable development of the area and for current issue of process of environmental impact assess
