Development of suburbanization in the hinterland of Prague monitored by remote sensing

  • Original language description

The article deals with the monitoring of the development of built-up areas in the hinterland of the Capital City of Prague. Some changes there began to occur after 1989, when significant political changes that occurred in the Czech Republic began to havean impact. This development changed into a known and described suburbanization process later and this process continues in the hinterlands of large towns and cities to this day. Other significant milestones for monitoring the development of suburbanization in this article are 1997, when the extensive development of residential and commercial suburbanization began, and 2008, when, by contrast, the economic crisis slowed down that process. All of this is assessed against the current situation, i.e. 2014.
