Remote Sensing or Earth Observation are crucial methods and source of Earth´s spatial data. New challenges of RS utilization arise with ongoing climate change and scientific development in environmental sciences. The monitoring of vegetation properties and status or detection of vegetation stress are important for agricultural and forestry industries worldwide. As agricultural and forestry production is strongly influenced by ongoing climate change, it is important to understand the current trends as well as to continuously monitor future changes, both in natural vegetation and in managed environments.
