Výsledek TN02000044/07-V10: Assessment of the sustainability of green plastics In recent years, demands for the development and use of ‘green’ plastic materials have been growing. Environmentally friendly plastics are plastics with reduced or at least minimized impacts on the environment during their life cycle (i.e. their sources, production, use, and their end of life). These plastics may made from biological materials such as plant residues or shells, instead of fossil fuels, or their advantage could be based on their easy recycling or biodegradability at the end of their life. However, to call these plastics as sustainable, not only environmental but also social aspects must be considered.
