Effect of organic farming on the ladybird beetle diversity (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae)
Original language description
Coccinellidae perform the function of biological control of pests in nature. The aim of the work was to establish the distribution and species composition of Coccinellidae in the organic agrolandscape. The research was conducted at the Skvyra research station, Ukraine. High correlations of insect numbers were found between fields, ecotones, forest shelter belts and between neighbour areas, indicating migration. Diversity of Coccinellidae in the organic agrolandscape compared to the traditional has been established.
