In the paper are discussed main problems of the Czech forestry based on long term results. The state forestry policy should be focused on support of the forestry economy - sources of renewable ecologically neutral sources of wood and other benefits. Thestate influence should be limited so far to enable free economical management and decision making based on the by practice proved knowledge of forestry science and common economy rules. It assumes clear and close cooperation within all resorts using woodand other products, ecological products included. Only by this way we can counter the change of forestry into poor, the state subsidies dependent sector, with all implications.
