Effects of preparatory stands on forest site restoration
Original language description
Presented study summarizes partial results of the project describing preparatory tree species growth on the typical site in the most damaged part of the Krušné hory (Ore) Mts. Evaluation of the site preparation, chemical and biological amelioration and species composition effects was performed. Project has been launched 1983, growth reaction of stands (Picea pungens E n g e l m., Larix decidua M i l l., Pinus contorta D o u g l., Pinus strobus L., Alnus incana M o e n c h., Fagus sylvatica L.) of different composition was studied: total height, height increment, diameter, in the period 1994?2000. Growth potential decreases in the order: larch, alder, lodgepole pine, white pine, blue spruce. Beech was almost exterminated by browsing and harsch climate, pines suffered heavily from browsing and bark striping.
