Two atlases od breeding birds distribution were published in the Czech Republic so far. The first Atlas comprices the results from the period 1973-77, the second one from 1985-89. The third Atlas was realized in 2001-03 in network of quadrates 10´L x 6´Lat (i.e. 12 x 11,1 km). The biggest value of mapping is just the comparison between starting point (1973-77 in the CR) and each subsequent interval in the future. All 628 quadrates were covered by 540 collaborators revealing the presence of 200 breedingbird species. Compared to the 1985-89 Atlas, 5 new species began breeding anew, whereas 6 species ceased to breed; 31 species of breeding birds increased in numbers, 16,5 % decreased.
