    Public support for farming is closely linked to issue of sustainability, care for the environment and the enhancement of biodiversity. EU and national agricultural policies emphasizes the need of sustainable, nature friendly farming methods. At the sametime awareness is growing of the biodiversity and the wildlife value of agricultural areas and the positive contributions of agriculture to biodiversity. This report provides an insight into diversity in views and perceptions by actors involved in Biodiversity Enhancing Programmes across six EU member states with regard to the willingness and ability of farmers to contribute to biodiversity conservation.
